On Sunday 22 April Cockle Bay participated in the annual Fisher Cup and Cucksey Shield tournaments. There is a lot of local honour at stake in these tournaments and it is always a tough competition.

This year Cockle Bay fielded a team of 12 players (6 men and 6 women) in each of these two tournaments, and achieved a honourable place of 2nd in both tournaments, behind Bucklands Beach.

It is a huge day of tennis, with each doubles pairing playing 5 sets of doubles and 5 sets of mixed doubles. As a result there were a lot of red faces and tired bodies towards the end!

Many thanks to all the players who represented the club. A great day was held by all and we look forward to being the host club for the tournaments in 2013.
