INTERCLUB RESULTS
There are a couple of results Tennis Auckland is still working on which could effect the outcome of some of our Cockle Bay teams. As soon as these have been resolved we'll advise the Senior & Junior Interclub results in a separate email. I'm pleased to say we do have some clear Section Winners and all these will be announced soon.
UPDATE ON DAMAGED FLOODLIGHT
The floodlight pole that was blown over in strong winds late last year sustained damage which was beyond repair. More importantly the foundations were damaged which resulted in the repair costs running into thousands of dollars. The club underwent applying for funding/grants to assist with the repair costs. Due to the Christmas Holiday period we've had to wait for the February/March round of funding. We are pleased to advise we've received some funding to get the job started, which commenced this week. The larger funding requests are due for a decision at the end of this month.
LIFE SAVING DEFIBRILLATOR NOW AVAILABLE AT THE CLUB
Thanks to funding from the Infinity Foundation, we now have a defibrillator on hand should a medical emergency occur when someone is in sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Whilst we certainly hope we never have to use it, this device if used within the first few minutes of collapse, can greatly improve the survival chances of a patient. The defibrillator is located above the club telephone in the foyer entrance. Step by step instructions are located inside the cabinet. Staff on premises from tennis, squash, Pro Shop and Vibra Train have been trained but they may not be here when it is needed. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the instruction sheet next time you're down at the club or Click Here to view instructions. You never know when you may need to use it. If the need arises to use the defibrillator, please note the most important thing you must firstly do is get someone to dial 111 and call for an ambulance while another person attends to the patient and starts getting the defibrillator working on the patient. If anyone wants to be shown how the defibrillator works, please contact the club office.
