WHAT'S HAPPENING | 5-11 November

Article dated: 5 November 2018   Audience: Public

5-11 November 2018

Wow! Friday night was a huge success, we won Caro Bowl and had an amazing turnout to watch.
This week we are inviting all our senior men to come down for a game of tennis on Thursday.

We have lots of news and events this week, sit down and enjoy the read.

CARO BOWL UPDATE
This week Cockle Bay play Remuera at Remuera.
Play starts at 6pm
This is a free event, we would love to see our members there to support our boys.

A massive thanks to everyone who came out on Friday night to support our team. Around 150 people had a fantastic night and kept the bar staff very busy.
It is a shame the tennis was very one sided with Cockle Bay winning easily with Parnell putting forward a weak team.

It was also great to see our Caro Reserve Boys in action; well done to Bucklands Beach who won 4-2.

Denise Clough, Adele McKeown and Sue Clearwater did an amazing job in the kitchen. A special mention to Lorena Ennor, Deirdre Frankle, and Delwyn Hayes for all your work throughout the evening. Alister McLaughlin provided the music and Michael Tran was responsible for the Facebook Livestream.

We are one awesome club!!!

INTERCLUB BALLS ARE CHANGING
The current Wilson Australian Open ball will be rebranded to the Wilson Tour Premier Ball. The partnership between Wilson Tennis and the Australian Open has concluded which has necessitated the name change.
While the ball will feature updated packaging and branding, the ball itself is identical to the existing Australian Open ball allowing for consistency of play.
There will be a transition period when both the Australian Open and Tour Premier ball will be in play for interclub.

The Auckland Championships is Auckland's premier regional open tournament and has a long history dating back to 1885. Many of the past champions have become household names.
