TDDA Cockle Bay off to a Winning Start

TDDA Cockle Bay Caro Bowl Mens Team had a convincing 1st round win over Bucklands Beach Birthcare Caro Bowl Men by 5 matches to 1.
Our team consisted of James Meredith, Rob Reynolds, Alex Hunt and up and coming juniors, Matt Shearer and Kevin Fu.

JAMES MEREDITH

29-year old James is from Christchurch where he runs a professional tennis business with his 2 brothers.
James had a decorated junior career in NZ winning the 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s National singles titles,
he also won 5 ITF singles titles and had a top 100 junior world ranking.

ALEX HUNT

Alex is from Nelson and is 25-years old.
He was born without a lower left arm so relies on a strong serve and forehand to build his game.

ROB REYNOLDS

Rob, 20, is from Hawkes Bay.
Before heading to overseas last year Rob was a big part of our coaching team.
We are pleased to see him back here playing for Cockle Bay before he heads off to play overseas.

CONNOR HEAP

22-year old Connor is from Christchurch.
For the past few years he has been in the USA on a tennis scholarship.

KEVIN FU

Kevin joined Cockle Bay when they immigrated to NZ and is a valuable member of the Premier Boys Tennis Team at Botany Down Secondary College.
He is in Year 9 and has a bright future ahead of him, as he is already recognised nationally in the sport.
Kevin has spent time in Thailand, representing New Zealand in the ITF World Junior Tennis Competition Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying Event

MATTHEW SHEARER

17-year old Matt Shearer has been a Cockle Bay member since before he was born.
Matt attends Botany College Secondary College tennis team
and has represented NZ in international tournaments.
